Start with the surface and the use
Explain the proposed ground, known level changes and how guests will use the marquee. A dining reception, dancing area and supplier service zone can have different needs. Share access requirements and any change of activity through the event so the team can consider the whole brief.
The ground and installation still need assessment. Flooring is not a statement that every surface, slope or drainage problem can be accommodated. Ask what is suitable for the actual Peterborough site and what information is needed before the floor specification can be agreed.
Questions that make the quotation clearer
| Ask about | Confirm in the specification |
|---|---|
| Flooring | The system or finish being supplied and the area it covers. |
| Carpet or another finish | Which layer or finish is included and where it is intended to go. |
| Dance floor | Whether one is requested, its agreed specification and its relationship to other furniture. |
| Entrances and routes | How transitions and guest access needs will be considered. |
| Setup and collection | Who installs and removes each item and the agreed sequence. |
Use a photograph to describe the look

Point to the feature you like rather than asking for everything in a picture as an undefined package. The team can identify which requested items are included, available separately or supplied by another provider.
Keep the floor in the complete layout
Bring furniture, entertainment equipment, serving points and planned movement into the same discussion. If tables will move during the event, confirm the handling responsibilities and what area remains clear. A later change to the ground, guest route or activity should trigger a review of the agreed flooring brief.
Notice the surface beneath the furniture
Paving is visible in this previous setup. A photograph does not approve another site or establish that a particular floor is included. Describe your actual surface and ask the team to confirm the suitable arrangement.
